🌬️ The Great Tuesday Leaf-Blower Expedition 🌬️
Today’s adventure was, without exaggeration, one of the most gloriously unnecessary and perfectly silly things we’ve done in a while.
We drove hours—yes, plural—for one single, humble mission: to pick up a leaf blower.
All four of us piled out of the car like a clown car act, the girls decked out head-to-toe in full Christmas cheer: sparkles, head-wreaths, festive jumpers—the whole holly-jolly ensemble. The people in the shed selling the leaf blower stared at us with a blend of suspicion and confusion that said, “Why is Santa’s backup cast here… for yard equipment?”
We tried out a couple of blowers, testing them with the seriousness of professional gardeners even though we know very little about them. After choosing the mightiest blower of them all, we celebrated the only way we know how — food.
So off to Brunswick we went, straight to the same hamburger joint we visited when we first arrived in Melbourne. A tiny full-circle moment wrapped in sauce and nostalgia.
Lunch was perfect. Silly comments, shared chips, the warm hum of a place that means something to us now.

Later, back home, we fired up the blower for its grand premiere. And let me tell you:
it. blew. us. away.
Literally and figuratively. There may have been screaming, laughter, and one or two near-flying Christmas accessories.

All in all, a wonderfully ridiculous Tuesday. A mission accomplished. A family adventure sealed with burgers, festive outfits, and a leaf blower powerful enough to rearrange small galaxies.
